Sour Cream Cake

Sour Cream Cake (Nancy's)

1 tsp baking soda
1/2 pint sour cream
2 3/4 c flour 
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp lemon extract
1 cup and 3 tbsp sugar divided
3 eggs
1/2 c shortening
1 tbsp cinnamon
1-1 1/2 c chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Add baking soda to sour cream and set aside.
Mix flour with baking powder.
Cream shortening with 1 cup sugar, add 3 eggs one at a time.
Add sour cream mixture to sugar mixture.
Mix for filling the 3 tbsp sugar, cinnamon and chocolate chips.
Pour 1/2 batter into an 8" square pan, sprinkle with filling, top with remaining batter.
Bake for 50-60 minutes.
