Pecan Pie
Ingredients: - 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust - 1 cup granulated sugar - 3/4 cup light corn syrup - 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted - 3 large eggs, beaten - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 1 1/4 cups pecans, chopped - Whipped cream (optional) Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined. 3. Stir in the chopped pecans. 4. Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust and spread it out evenly. 5. If desired, cover the edge of the pie crust with aluminum foil to prevent it from burning. 6. Bake the pie for 50-60 minutes or until the filling is set and golden brown. 7. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool to room temperature before slicing and serving. 8. If desired, serve the pie with a dollop of whipped cream.
