Fried Fish

Ingredients:

4 fillets of white fish, such as cod or haddock
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1 cup breadcrumbs
Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

In another shallow dish, whisk together the milk and egg.

In a third shallow dish, place the breadcrumbs.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Dredge each fish fillet in the flour mixture, then dip it in the milk and egg mixture, and finally coat it with the breadcrumbs.

Carefully place the fish fillets in the hot oil and fry them for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Use a slotted spatula to transfer the fried fish to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

Serve the fried fish hot, with lemon wedges and tartar sauce, if desired.
