Chicken Fried Steak
Ingredients: - 4 beef cube steaks (approximately 6 oz each) - 1 cup all-purpose flour - 1 tsp garlic powder - 1 tsp onion powder - 1 tsp paprika - 1 tsp black pepper - 1 tsp salt - 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper - 1 cup buttermilk - 1 egg - vegetable oil for frying Instructions: 1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. 2. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk and egg. 3. Dip each steak in the buttermilk mixture, then coat with the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess. 4. Heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. 5. Fry steaks, a few at a time, until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. 6. Transfer steaks to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. 7. Serve hot with gravy or a side of mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
